NICHOLAS KRASNO is Managing Director of Krasno Financial Advisory. With over thirty-five years of experience in the financial and banking world, he advises boards of directors, works with regulators and governmental agencies, and undertakes training and orientation programmes for senior executives and management of companies around the world.
He founded his consultancy practice in 2003 after eleven years as a senior executive with Moody’s Investors Service. As Senior Vice President of Moody’s Financial Institutions, Banking & Sovereign Risk Group, he had responsibility for the United States and European countries, as well as the emerging markets of East and South Asia.
As a senior executive, Mr Krasno chaired Moody’s rating committees, and represented the ratings agency with senior company management and governments throughout the world, and with major international investors.
Prior to his service with Moody’s, Mr Krasno was a banker with international and domestic North American responsibilities for, successively, Mellon Bank N.A. and Bank of Montreal. Working in London, Toronto, and New York he handled financial institution and country credit analysis and risk management, corporate loan structuring, marketing, cash management, project finance lending, capital markets, and loan syndication.
He began his career as a stockbroker with a major City of London firm in 1975.
Mr Krasno was born in England, and studied law at the University of Oxford (1971-1974). He has lived in New York City since 1987.
